This is surely one of the most original Mass Transport systems around! The "Mid Levels Escalator" in Soho linking Queens Road Central in the City with Conduit Road amongst the towering flats, runs downhill until 10.30 in the morning, after which it runs uphill. It's a fascinating ride, as you drift gracefully upward past the shops, bars and restaurants. Thankfully, the footpath next door is decently graded.
