So
we set off
from Jaipur to Agra having realised that Rajasthan has a desert climate
but not aware how common camels would turn out to be. Not far out of
Jaipur we got the bus driver to screetch to a halt for us to take this
picture and then found we were passing these little convoys every mile
or two. A camel costs between 10,000 and 15,000 rupees (£133 and
£200). In winter it needs feeding every 2 weeks and topping up
with water the same. Even in summer it only requires this maintenance
once a week. That's why they are such good beasts of burden.
