another trip of
a lifetime! 13 days that the brochure described as "gentle" and
cultural. However we have never experienced so many early mornings! Up
at 4.15am for the Delhi train to Jaipur; 6am to visit the Amber fort at
Jaipur; 4.50am to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise; 5.00am for an early
morning jeep safari at Corbett National Tiger Reserve. Waking up at
8.00am on the overnight sleeper train from Mathura (near Agra) to
Lalkuan (for the Himalayas) was positively decadent! This was a busy
schedule that packed in a huge amount and showed us a variety of Indian
experiences hard to beat. We recommend the Adventure Company
unreservedly and our Indian guide, as well as being a really nice man,
was fantastically well organised with unsurpassed knowledge of the
history, culture and wildlife of everywhere we visited. Of course we
got the "Delhi Belly" but it was a small price to pay for a wonderful
trip. |
