We have Itchy Feet! |
![]() |
We aim to communicate some of the excitement we have felt in visiting some wonderful places in Western Europe, Malaysia and the Western States of the USA. We also offer some observations on the places themselves and some "travellers tips" that we hope may be of use to other folks. These pages have considerable scope for development so not everything works at the moment! |

This
is Daisy, our Motorhome. By both European and American
standards, she
is
classed as "small". Based on a Citroen Dispatch 1.9
litre Turbo Diesel
van. Bought as a nearly new "demonstrator" she was
converted by Drivelodge
of Keighley, Yorkshire, England. The conversion is
called "Nu
Amigo".
She
is well equipped, and was supplied with two single
beds, which we
have modified into a double. Since acquiring her
in January 1999
we had three weeks in Northern Spain in August 2000,
three weeks
in
Western France in August 2002, three weeks at Annecy
(French Alps) in
August 2004 and several short breaks in England,
Wales,
Holland France and Belgium. We had an interesting time
exploring
Hadrian's wall in May 2005. |

We began
"Motorhomeing"
in 1996. Our first vehicle was a ten
year
old Wheelhome
Daneste based on the Suzuki Super-carry van. If Daisy is
small Suzi is
minute - "un Camping-Car minimum" overheard in Sarlat,
Dordogne,
France!
Suzi is a fantastic conversion and shows considerable
ingenuity in
design
due to the creativity of Wheelhome's boss Stephen
Wheeler - and she has
"character". We had great times in her but wanted to go
further and
faster
- however, she did get us to the Jura in France in 1999,
including a
flying
visit to view the eclipse near Nancy. Here she is in the
Forest Of
Dean. |
