I'm
afraid that superlatives will unashamedly smatter these
comments!
Kathy and I created our own tour with the help of the Rough
Guide and
some wonderful websites. This meant that we went exactly where
we
pleased and stayed in some amazing Balinese run hotels, that
offered
superb value for money. You can see from the map the route
that we
took. We managed to see a cross section of the Island's
wonderful
scenery and a goodly number of its numerous glorious temples,
and we
met with nothing but friendliness and help wherever we
ventured.
Even the Hawkers were bearable! The tropical
climate was comfortable everywhere with low humidity and fresh
sea breezes.
Bali was just beginning to recover from the Kuta Bombs
of October
2002, and tourists were being welcomed with open arms
because of their
scarcity.
We had stayed at Jimbaran and most likely walked through the
Jimbaran
Fish Restaurant that was bombed on October 2nd 2005. We
would go back tomorrow if we could, notwithstanding what had
happened.
