We first went abroad in 1983 to
Brittany when it was so hot there was a shell-fish
ban! As the following year in Cornwall was a wash
out we vowed to never trust the British weather ever
again for a summer holiday. Since then we have tent
camped in various parts of France and when David and
Jo stopped coming with us in 1992 we "graduated" to
a tunnel tent and then into motor-homing with our
little Suzuki in 1996. We began to be able to take
"short breaks" in the early 1990's and have used
them to visit Paris, parts of Holland and Belgium,
Lanzarote, Rome, Barcelona, Venice, (with
Roland's mum), the Balearics, Malta and favourite
haunts in Wales and England - in Suzi and Daisy.

Kathy
has
been abroad on her own with the CBSC, to Holland and
Belgium and memorably to sing Beethoven 9 at the
Charles V Palace in Granada, southern Spain. A big
treat was us both travelling to Vienna in May 2002
when Sir Simon Rattle recorded Beethoven 9 with the
Vienna Philharmonic and the CBSC at live
performances in the Musikverein "Golden Room". |
